FAQ

Reel to Reel 8 MM & 16 MM Film

Question:

Should I send all my reels in at one time?

Answer:

Getting your 8mm 16mm Films Transferred a little at a time is the best way to do this. Never send or drop off ALL your films to anybody! How do you know what it's going to look like? Many people make this mistake,. thinking it's all the same. There is NO NEED TO DO ALL Films AT the SAME TIME.  Do 1 or 2 small reels. See how you like it!

Question:

"I am not sure what is on the reels or what order they are in.. I want to find a projector and review them. Should I place a want- ad in the newspaper for a projector."

Answer:

A want ad? That’s a long shot. Your not even going to find a projector that in good working order on the Internet . That’s time wasted and more damage done to the films. If your films have been spliced on to a larger reel, either 200-foot, 300- foot or 400-foot ( 5 inches, 6 inches or 7 inches across the center of the reel edge to edge), this is usually the best footage of all the types of reels you may have in your collection. Because someone years ago had taken the time to edit the best of the small 50 foot reels.

Question:

"Do I get my films back when your done transferring them?"

Answer:

You will get them back in better condition. They are cleaned, splices fixed, leaders added. We do not charge for film that is not usable, blank or overexposed. How Does Your Film Transfer Differ From Other Companies?

Answer:

My Restoration service uses Spirit_DataCine. Old Film Projectors are not used in my process, most other companies do. Camcorders are not used in my process, no screens, no transfer box's - in my process. Most other companies do. You really need to watch the videos to see the incredible difference.

Testimonials

I had my films redone by Reel Film Production and it is light years ahead of what I had done in the past. I gave him permission to post a video showing the work I had done by another company that I was not at all happy with the results. old film like mine from 1950's,need to be restored first and not just a straight transfer. I recommend this company highly!
